FALL!

i've been spending an uncomfortable amount of time at craft and scrapbook stores lately - not ok. but! i did make a large amount of things! and that is good. i finally got to give camie her card and calendar yesterday at her beautiful and extravagant bridal shower. she liked it! bonus. also on friday i ditched my husband to drive an hour, hang out with cool people and make a wreath, then drive an hour back - worth it. i love how it turned out! fake flowers half off from michaels + acorns = my sole fall home decoration.

also, i carved a pumpkin. i seriously considered doing voldemort's face, but since i didn't get to it until today i opted for a much easier jack skellington. minus the too big of under-eye wrinkle, i'm pretty proud of how it turned out. yay.

last but not least, i live in a beautiful place. well, WE live in a beautiful place. we got really lucky.

THE END.

p.s. one of my neighbors looks like legolas. this really is the place.

Utah State Fair

Sarah and I went to the Utah State Fair to see Weird Al Yankovic, and we've got some good pictures of the event. One of the coolest things there was a giant "robot," or some guy wearing the coolest robot costume I've ever seen. A lot of little kids thought he was pretty awesome.

We grabbed some honeybutter scones and ran off to the concert. I'm a big fan of Weird Al, and my two favorite songs of his are Amish Paradise, and White and Nerdy. Here's a picture from Amish Paradise:

And another one from White and Nerdy:
The costumes were awesome. Close to the end of the show he came out as a super-fat guy for the song "Fat." He puts a lot of energy into his shows.

I also really liked the video segments in-between songs, especially the Al TV Interviews. It was my favorite concert ever. He finished by being a Jedi, singing with a bunch of Stormtroopers.
Sarah wanted a picture in front of the Ferris Wheel. She's a cutie!
We've gone to the Utah State Fair twice now, so it's practically a tradition! And if you ever get a chance to see Weird Al in concert, do it! It'll be one of the most entertaining concerts you'll ever attend.

Korea Trip

Sarah and I went to Korea Aug. 5 - Aug. 17. We posted some pictures from the trip on Facebook, but I know that not all of our friends have Facebook, so I thought I'd post a link to a few of them here:

Korea Trip

Just FYI: We were in Korea because Bennion wrote a paper and it got accepted in the the Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems which was being held at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. I snuck into his presentation on the last day and he did AWESOME! Dr. Brown and I both thought so. -Sarah

I'll give a quick overview of where some of these pictures are from.

A lot of the first ones are from the Korean Folk Village. It's in one of the suburbs of Seoul, but had a lot of fun shows and old buildings to show what traditional life was like in pre-modern Korea. We had a couple of pictures from Cheonggyecheon, a cool river right in downtown by the Gyeongbokgung palace. That's the palace where we have photos of us next to a pond and a pagoda. We also have pictures from the Korean War Museum, Namdaemun market, Jogye-sa temple, and the Coex Aquarium.

We also have some good video footage of Seoul, so someday when I get around to it, I'll clip together a video and post it on youtube. Since my parents just gave me VideoStudio Pro X4 for my birthday, that day might be sooner than later ;)

Well thanks for reading. Feel free to comment!
